Getting the Best Photo for Your Pet Portrait

Don’t worry—if your photo doesn’t meet the guidelines below, our team reviews every order and will reach out quickly to help you choose a better one if needed.

To make sure we capture your pet perfectly, please keep these tips in mind:

  • Avoid flash or dim lighting.

  • A direct, forward look is ideal, but if your pet is in another position, that’s how they’ll appear in the final artwork.

  • Dark shadows should be avoided on pets’ face and neck.

  • Get close enough so details are sharp, but don’t cut off ears, whiskers, or other important features.

  • If your pet is wearing a collar, bow, or outfit, it will also appear in the finished portrait.

And don’t worry—if your photo isn’t quite right, our team reviews every order and will reach out quickly to help you choose a better option if needed.
